How to set up SandFlow™ the correct way?
Step #1: Make all the sand to the bottom before use
Step #2: Then shake the moving sand art picture up and down, left and right a few times with your hands (shaking up and down, the bubbles become small; shaking left and right, the bubbles become big)
Step #3: After shaking, wait for about 10 seconds to let the sand sink to the bottom；
Step #4: Then invert the sand painting horizontally to put on the Stand (When it is turned upside down, let the air bubbles block the sand, and let the sand slowly flow down from the bubble gap).
Here are 3 additional tips:
Tip #1: The slower the flow rate of sand, the more prominent the effect.
Tip #2: If the sand flow is too fast, it is because the bubbles are too big. At this time, it should be shaken up and down for a few minutes to make the bubbles smaller.
Tip #3: If the sand cannot flow down, it means that the bubbles are too small. At this time, slide slowly left and right for a few minutes to let the bubbles coalesce.

I ordered the 7” one for my desk and love it! It reminds me of one I had as a kid. Some people have complained that the sand just falls immediately to the bottom, but not if you make sure the bubbles go across (see the pictures I posted). If the bubbles are across, it takes several minutes for it to make your sand sculpture. It’s easy to use and looks nice in its stand.
Love this new addition to my desk. Part toy, part relaxation, part art... it’s the best of all of these. Feels sturdy and looks classy.
Sometimes you just need to flip the sandglass and watch the sand fall to escape the reality of working in an office cubicle. It's relaxing to see the sand falling while you're working and a fun conversation piece too. It's glass but because it's round it's easier to handle for smaller hands. Still, I wouldn't let a kid run off with it as it will break if dropped.
The sand is subject to the laws of physics regarding air. Too much air and the sand gets 'trapped' and often cannot fall at all. Too little air and the sand free-falls. Get a needle and syringe and add/remove air until you get the balance you desire.
It looks great and helps relax in a busy day. I recommend getting this for your workspace.
The back of the box has a picture of a syringe, showing you the "proper" way to get rid of the air bubbles...but looking around this thing, there's no entryway for a syringe. And the air bubbles keep the sand from moving at all, at times.
